Pairing Remote to Phillips Roku TV

Question

I have a Phillips Roku TV and I have the voice remote. The remote won’t pair to the tv. The light doesn’t even turn green on the remote. I’ve tried replacing the batteries but I’m not sure what to do. I’ve also tried a series of steps that failed: remove batteries, unplug tv, wait 5 seconds, plug tv, wait for the roku screen to pop up, put batteries back in, press the pairing button.
so, I’m not sure how to fix this and would appreciate any input.

a13xis&nbsp;Has this remote previously been paired to this TV?&nbsp; If this is a new voice remote it is possible it is defective.&nbsp;&nbsp;
