Paired Roku Remote does not bring up Roku Home Screen

New Vizio tv is paired with Roku remote…but when TV turned on with Roku remote, the Roku Home Screen does not come on. Instead, the Vizio “home” screen comes up and I have to navigate with the TV remote to the Roku input then I get the Roku Home Screen. 
do not want to use 2 remotes to get to Roku Home Screen

    Make sure on your Roku that settings->system -> control other devices (CEC) -> 1-touch play is enabled. 

    If it is already enabled then make sure HDMI-CEC is enabled on the TV.  You may want to also look for a command on the TV like refresh or reset under the HDMI-CEC settings.  Of course, if the TV is very old, it may not do HDMI CEC.
