Onn.Roku TV headset /speaker issue

When you plug in the earphone jack with headset -the sound keep switching from tv speaker to earphone every 3 seconds. This is indicated on the tv itself by showing the headset then speaker icon in the top right of the screen.  I tried different Roku remotes with a earphone jack and the problem is the same.  Is this a known isssue?
