Onn roku tv - no volume on any channel

Hi,

I have a 58" Onn roku tv and the volume has stopped working completely on every channel. I have checked to make sure the volume is on and not muted.  No matter what channel I go to the volume does not work. Even on the home screen there is no sound.

I updated the tv sound and still no sound. I also facorty reset the audio settings and still no sound. Please help!

I was told it happens when there is static in the power...unplug from wall hold power for 30 seconds and plug back in. It worked for me.

    Thanks for the inquiry.

Have you tried contacting Onn support yet to inquire further? I'd suggest starting there to see what options or suggestions they can provide. Each Roku TV manufacturer provides direct support for their products running the Roku OS.

You can reach them here: http://onntvsupport.com/#product_support-2 or at 1-888-412-6886.

    Thanks,
    Danny

This is not helpful at ALL. This your brand also, you should contact the manufacturer and have an answer with all of these reported issues of no sound.

https://youtu.be/fUBZe2Z48XA  This worked to restore sound on my tv, try it!
        Press home button 5x

        up arrow 1x

        rewind button 2x

        fast forward button 2x

you have to do it quick succession but once you get it right, your screen will flip out for a min and the TV will restart. I was about to buy a new tv.

Hit the pause play button three times to reset audio/video setting to factory default. It does not factory restore the TV so your download apps and settings are not effected.

We’re all having the same issue with no sound. Unplugging every day (or more) shouldn’t be necessary on a new tv. What works for me is this:
    Settings

    System

    Power

    System Restart

this just restarts Roku, doesn’t mess with any of your settings, just turns tv off and right back on. I hope this works for you. Good luck

  • I’m experiencing the same issue. Watched a show last night through my Xbox no problems. Used it to stream Spotify through my phone earlier today too. Just sat down before bed and no no audio. Tried different inputs, casting, it doesn’t matter the audio is not working.

Has anyone figured this out or gotten to a solution?  Mind doing it now and my TV isn't even a month old yet, about 3 weeks old tho so if course that means Walmart won't take it back since electronics return period is 15 days. I watched a movie thru my DVD player a couple hours ago and it was perfect. Turned it all off,  then couldn't sleep so finally decided to watch TV a little more and no sound! Frustrating!

  • Same thing happening to our TV only 6 months old, but started to have sound issues within the last month.  Search and tried everything still no solution.

Unplug and plug it back in. It worked for my issue.

      FYI

I have only had my ONN Tv less than 3 months.

Seriously try this, I kept unplugging tv and it worked for awhile...until it didn’t. I’ve had my tv since Black Friday and I was extremely upset that it was practically brand new and I was having these problems. This button pressing solution worked for me, but check out the YouTube video link if you don’t believe me, there was a bunch of people in the comments with our same issue. I hope this helps!

  • I’ve had a 55” Onn Roku TV for almost a month now. As of today, when I turn it on, or rewind, the sound goes away and I have to adjust the volume sound every time to get it working. Anybody having the same problem? Have you been able to fix it? Roku TV

Does this occur on all programming or just from specific sources?  Lots of similar complaints coming in lately re Hulu, esoecially Hulu Live.

It was my hulu and netflix (I didn’t check the rest). I did reset it doing a step by step I found online and it worked:

        1) Press the HOME button 5 times.

        2) Press the UP arrow once.

        3) Press the REWIND button twice.

        4) Press the FAST FORWARD button twice.

        5) The RESTART will begin, though it may take a few seconds.

Unplugged it from the socket. Waited 30 seconds. Replugged it. Sound back,

  • Found my onn tv was having sound leveling issues would stop sound had to switch sound mode off and back on for every show. Very annoying sound will no longer play with sound mode off and now always have to turn off and back on to function could also be a internet connectivity issue have found a better resolve yet.

  • Power reset seemed to help with returning function of volume. Unplug for 2 minutes and retry.

  • The beeps and stuff from the menu works. But playing a movie, online or with a CD and there is NO audio. Not even at 100% volume there is no audio.  We have tried reseting the TV, and turning it off and on again. We made sure its not on mute.  Why can't we fix it????

We have a Roku Hisense TV.  When trying to use YouTube or Netflix on the TV itself we have no audio. When we plug in our PS4 and try to watch a CD, again we have no audio. But the TV itself is making audio because we can hear when the button moves to a different part, and when we click on stuff the tv beeps.

  • You can all go to settings - system - power - system restart. It works all the time for me.

      Hi everyone,

      Thanks for the posts.

If you are still experiencing this issue, can you please provide us the following information:

      -serial number
      -device ID
      -software OS/version
(these can all be found in Settings > System > About)
-does this issue occur on a specific channel? if so, what channel and what version/build is the channel (this can be found be selecting the channel on the Home screen and pressing the * button)
-tracker ID when this issue occurs (when you see this issue occur, press the Home button 5 times, followed by the Back button 5 times)
-when did you start seeing this issue occur

Once we have this information we will be able to pass it along to the appropriate team to investigate further.
