On Samsung tv currently controlled by Amazon fire

My Samsung tv is currently controlled by Amazon fire…..except for on/off.

I want to discontinue fire and switch to roku so I will need only one remote, vs. fire remote and Samsung remote….the latter only to turn on or off.

roku support could not help. They said I need a roku tv.

  • You should  be able to control (on/off, mute, volume) your Samsung TV with the Voice Remote that comes with pretty much every Roku device except the least expensive Express model.  You definitely don't need a Roku TV.  I say should because for some reason sometimes setting up the remote to control the TV doesn't go as smoothly as it should.  I have a very old Samsung TV that works with my Roku remote.
