Not recognizing internet connection

I'm encountering a recurring issue that has been persisting lately. Everything was functioning smoothly for a while, but in the past week or two, I keep experiencing a sudden loss of internet connectivity. It's puzzling because I've verified my internet speed using TM Speed Test, and it consistently shows that I have a 100% connection. The problem usually occurs when I'm engrossed in watching a program, and suddenly, the connection drops. I'm uncertain about the steps I should take to resolve this issue. Can you please provide some guidance on what I can do to rectify this situation?

    I have two Roku TVs and have this problem with only one of them. I've done all the trouble shooting for connectivity. All other devices, including another Roku TV, retain internet connectivity. For the past month, I have to reset the Internet connectivity every time I turn on the TV. The Roku TV that retains connectivity is a different model than the one that does not retain connectivity, if that matters. Any ideas?

      Katm, try enabling "Fast TV start" under Settings->System->Power.

    tomharry2211I'd highly recommend you install a network analyzer app like WiFi Analyzer on Android or something similar on IOS. Once its installed, tap the icon and look for the SSID's of both 2.4 and 5 gHz bands along with the signal strength which normally shows in a graph. Its a common occurrence that many others are using the SAME WiFi channel so switching to one that has far less traffic tends to solve the problem. That said, the 2.4 band has greater range but is much slower than 5 gHz. The other factor is the bandwidth selection which is best set to auto (20/40/80) which allows the router to analyze the best setting and choose it. Needless to say there are other settings that can dramatically change through put but these are the best choices for someone unfamiliar with network configuration.

    The placement of a WiFi router is important too by the way. It's best to have it in a central location, elevated and at least 2' from a wall..Nearby mirrors will cause the signal to be reflected so if there are any, its best to move or cover them 🙂
