No network connection on the roku app

Just brought a 32 inch 1080 yesterday. connected with my phones Hotspot and had not issues setting the TV. The TV itself picks up on my hotspot just fine and says my connection strength is "strong" but the roku app won't recognize my device and says "no network connection" the app use up to date and so it's the TV. Am I missing something?

    gokolgo1, if your TV is connected to your hotspot, in general you can't use the app on the same device that's acting as the hotspot.  You may be able to connect another device to the same hotspot and use the app on it.
