"no connection" on screen and remote only turns the unit on and off

remote has been unreliable with working, but 3 days ago things just stopped. screen has a "no connection" message and the remote will not work AT ALL!!! I cannot do anything to try to sign in to my account. all the remote will do is turn the unit on and off.  Im very frustrated-HELP!!! its the only form of decent entertainment I had!!!

    What model number is written on the device?  If it's a stick with a USB cable with a "bump" in the cable you must use that cable and they are known to go bad.  That would explain both the "No connection" message and the non-working remote.  As a first thing to try, remove the cables and reconnect them.
