New Voice remote pro 2 back button won’t press

Hey all

Just purchased a voice remote pro 2nd edition on Amazon. Working ok so far besides a few issues.

My biggest gripe is the back button doesn’t work. When I press it nothing happens. There isn’t even a feeling that a button is being pushed, unlike the home button. Is this a physical defect? Or a design thing?

Having issues controlling my Sonos soundbar on IR control so switched to cec.

Again, the back button is what I’m focused on. Thanks.

Thanks for giving us the heads-up about the Roku Voice Remote Pro (2nd edition). We're here to help!

Before we dive in, could you let us know which Roku TV or player this remote is paired with? Also, is this the original remote that came with it? To clarify, the back button is located to the left of the Home button. Some users mistakenly believe that the left arrow, rewind, or instant replay buttons serve as the Back button.

We also suggest resetting your Roku remote by pressing and holding the Back and Home buttons simultaneously for about 20 seconds. After doing so, pair it again and try using the back button feature to see if this makes any difference.

In the meantime, you may install the Roku mobile app as an alternative to your physical remote. This works well with your Roku streaming device, which has a voice command feature.

Let us know how it goes and we'll go from there.

    Best regards,
    Jharra

Works for a little while but then does not work until you press the home button and start streaming again. I have repair the remote but only works temporarily.

        Hi Lloyd54

        Thanks for getting in touch!

It sounds like you're having trouble with the back button on your remote. To get to the bottom of this, could you help me out by answering a few questions?

        • The model number of the remote.
        • Is the issue happening across all apps or just one specific app?
        • Besides re-pairing the remote, have you tried any other troubleshooting steps, like changing the batteries, restarting the system, or updating the software? etc.

        Looking forward to your response.

        Cheers!
