New Roku voice remotes do not work with unupdated Roku sticks 3600x/3810x?

I have some 3600x and 3810x sticks that are with factory software (i.e no updates). I got new roku voice remotes which always pair successfully but then I sit on language selection screen of roku with no buttons on remote working further.

I am unable to find older roku voice/RF remote for these sticks.

I suspect that unless these sticks update their OS via internet (for which I need remote), they won't work with the new remote. I am unable to find old RF Roku remote to buy in Canada.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

    Please be aware that if you are located in Canada, you will most likely have to find a replacement remote through a third party entity.

      RokuDanny-R Thanks I tried the new roku voice remote but it cannot control these devices. Perhaps they need an OS update before that which i cannot do without getting them on wifi

        I own the 3811X streaming stick+ and just talked to customer support since my new Voice Remote Pro doesn't seem to work with it. I swear I already had a pro remote working with it, but he said it isn't compatible. Not sure what I'm going to do!

      I have 2 enhanced remotes to replace the remote the dog ate. Neither will pair successfully...!!?? Seems to pair then gets stuck at language selection screen, NO BUTTONS WORK.
