We understand that you're experiencing an issue with your Roku device after an update. We'd like to investigate further.

First, send us the device information. We need the model, serial number, and OS version/build. Also, can you tell us if you see a light on the device when you plug in the Roku stream bar? Is it red?

    Looking forward to your response.

  • I just had the same problem. After the update, my sound bar seemed dead. I had to manual unplug the power and plug it back in, and the Roku said I needed to update my soundbar software, which you'd think would be part of the entire update as it has been in the past but someone messed up. Once I updated, it's working fine again. Whoever posted this latest Roku update is borking all the Roku soundbars, I do hope they fix this soon, I shouldn't have to be messing with my tv at 1 am.

I had intermittent HDMI no signal issue with the StreamBar recently too (could be the April 2025 update). I also noticed that the StreamBar is extremely hot especially near the HDMI port. Usually if unplug and let it cool down and restart the streambar it will be fine but it will lose HDMI signal once it heats up.

You should check if your HDMI port is very hot, if so, the following might help:

I took my streambar apart (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8v_Iyd4Cx5w) and found out that the only thermal pad there is bad and probably causing the heat to build up. The streambar actually has a quite large heatsink for passive heat dissipation, but without an effective thermal pad the heat won't transfer to the heatsink. Replacing the thermal pad with a new one seems do the trick.

Also, according to this thread (https://community.roku.com/t5/Discussions/Confused-About-Streambar-Standby/td-p/873998), the streambar is very bad at power management, with an idle power consumption of 30W (at this rate it will cost me ~$100/year just plugin the streambar). Even with the new thermal pad, the device stays warm all the time even when not used. I started to add a wireless power switch to switch off the power if I don't want to use it during the day. Hope this helps!

Actually the HDMI no signal symptom comes back, so this is not an overheating issue. Might be something wrong with the 4/18 update.
