New Roku remote not working.

Just got a new remote and pulled the plastic and nothing works.  Not the on off or any other button.

Thanks

      chuck7s-

If "pulled the plastic" means  you pulled out the tab from the battery compartment on a Voice Remote that kept the batteries from draining during shipment, you still need to pair the Voice Remote to your Roku.

      Here's a Roku article on pairing: https://support.roku.com/article/360011621473

You may find your Roku is only receptive to the pairing request from the remote for a short period of time after it starts up.  Try pulling the power to the Roku for a few seconds then plugging it back in and waiting for it to start up before reinserting the batteries in the remote and pressing the pairing button.
