New remote not working after 3mths

I recently had to replace my original voice remote because it stopped scrolling right. 

I purchased an original replacement just under 3mths ago and now this one has exactly the same problem. I’ve been through the procedure of unplugging TV / hdmi/ usb and removing batteries but no luck, it’s fine  in all other directions.

I’ve never come across this with any remotes. 

How do I get a replacement which won’t break after a couple of months?
