New ONN Roku Smart soundbar simple remote will not turn off Bravia tv

I was using a Roku stick that shut off my tv but I bought soundbar and now my simple remote won’t shut off the tv. I’ve confirmed “tv off” is checked in system settings. I’ve removed batteries. I’ve restarted soundbar. If it doesn’t turn off my tv then I’ll have to return it. Thoughts?

    Assume this is the Roku Streambar SE? Thats the only soundbar to come an IR remote. So the only way it can control your tv is by CEC. You have to have it turned on in the TV settings.

    You could upgrade the remote to separately sold wifi voice remote which would be programmable to control your tv by IR.
