New cable box and cable remote

I am replacing an  Xfinity cable box with a new one and also with a new cable remote.  Having trouble getting it to work correctly.  Do I have to start like it is a new setup or just do something with the new cable remote or both?  Cable is not working on it now.

  • Are you trying to connect a Roku??
