  • Hi AKirk,

Thanks for posting, and welcome to the Roku Community.

We acknowledge your concern and flagging this to us. Is there an ethernet port to your Roku TV, and see if you can connect an ethernet cable to get a network? Also, have you tried the soft restart to your Roku TVs and streaming device by navigating to Settings > System > Power > (skip if no sub-menu) System Restart? Further, have you tried connecting to an alternative network, such as a mobile hotspot, to see if you're able to maintain a connection?

    Let us know.

    All the best,
    Kash

  • Ever since the Super Bowl, my Roku TV will randomly lose internet connection and I have to restart the TV every time to get it to connect. This has been happening more frequently as of late.

Is anyone else having this issue?

I am having the same issue!  I’m so annoyed, this tv isn’t even 2 years old and already it’s having connectivity issues.

I have reset the tv.  I have reset the network settings.  I’ve reset the default settings.  I’ve done a factory reset.  I’ve rebooted my modem and router.  I’ve swapped out my modem and router.  I’ve made sure that everything has been updated.  Nothing works, this isn’t a network issue it’s a device issue.  The TV is defective.  I’ll be looking at my warranty options next.  Paying additional money for a hotspot for one device, when all other devices connect to my high speed Wi-Fi with no issues, isn’t a solution.  It’s a cop out!

I did actually.  I tried several things, but I think the issue for me was not having a strong enough connection.  I do think it's the TV, other tvs and devices don't have the same problem when it comes distance from the router.

I switched my ISP, and I bought a wifi extender (WAP).  I haven't had any connectivity issues since.

  • I’ve had this Hisense Model 55R6+ for a while now and it used to work perfectly fine, today is April 23rd 2024 and right now i’m sitting here looking at my tv watching it constantly connect, disconnect, and reconnect and do the same thing over and over again. sometimes, when i even turn the tv on nothing will show up, and it will stay this way for sometimes minutes mins you, just the background of the main menu shows up none of my apps or hdmi inputs. and i’ve checked my wifi too it’s not the problem, not to mention though with the tv literally making itself somehow disconnect and reconnect to the wifi i cannot use airplay or screen mirroring anymore, this problem with the wifi on this tv has practically made it useless and i have had to resort to using a firestick for the time being and i don’t want to do that i’d like my tv that i paid a good amount of money for to work.

Mine does the same thing. My old roku tv didnt ever disconnect from wifi but somehow this new tv does. Its odd. Now I get the one in the living room disconnects from the wifi all the time so we're used it. But that tv is from 2020 and isnt hooked to cable its hooked to atena. BUT my new tv in the family room takes forever to recognize its hooked to the xfinity box and sometimes I have to reconnect it to wifi because just like you mentioned the roku tv somehow disconnects from wifi im not sure how. Its weird. I dont think it has anything to do with my wifi through comcast or anything

        RokuTakashi ,

I’ve dealt with this tv having this problem for months, rebooting/restarting it doesn’t work. I’ve done just about anything and everything i could think of and did a lot of research on the issue i’m having. Nothing i’ve tried has helped or anything i’ve been told, i just want my tv to work.

  • I also have this issue. My house has stable, high speed internet. The router and modem have been updated within the last 6 months. We have other brands of tvs that work without issue. The Onn TV will crash within minutes of trying to run Spectrum. Other channels, like Max or Paramount, will isually stream ok after several login attempts - where it tells me I've lost internet connectivity. When I back out to check the network, it shows that everything is working and signal strength is excellent. This is very frustrating and most certainly an issue with the TV setup.

My device is up to date and I didn't get an error message during an update.  So that article didn't help.  Plus I mentioned unplugging my tv and hard wiring it.  This is a problem with he TV.

Same issue here!  Onn. Roku TV is 3 years old.   Keeps dropping wifi connection even though all other devices are fine. Have done all the steps, reset modem, network settings, factory reset,  followed the steps on the remote for hard reset and clear cache, etc. nothing works!  Sometimes TV restarts out of the blue. Sometimes TV works for a few days with no issues, and other times won't stay connected for more than a few minutes.

Every morning, we have to reconnect to the internet. If the tv is off for a long time during the day it's the same thing. No error message. Just have to go through the steps to reconnect every time. The other tv's are fine. Never a problem.
