My brand new Roku stick keeps making my LG tv turn on and off

I just bought this Roku stick from Walmart for my LG tv and when I plugged it in to the HDMI thing the Roku thing pops up and acts like it going to turn on but then it goes off and then turns back on and is back on the Roku thing
