I noticed the same thing this morning on my Ultra 4660 (OS 12.0). On my RokuTV (OS 12.5), I still have channel numbers for the LiveTV streaming channels on the Roku Channel.
Looks like Roku is updating the Roku Channel LiveTV Guide to provide for the removal of channel numbers. (https://www.roku.com/blog/os-12-5), so will just start pushing it to devices. (thanks to renojim for pointing this out in another thread).

Don't really care for this unnumbered list as it is actually more unorganized. (supposedly 12.5 will allow user to personalize/order your streaming channels, but of course has not yet been implemented. Roku is infamous for pushing only half of a feature on release). If you want to switch channels using Voice Remote, you now need to know the "Channel Name". When saying the Channel Name, a submenu pops up asking whether to switch to the Chanel Name on LiveTV or install the Channel Name standalone chanel/app. Prior to this, you only needed to say the "Channel Number" into the Voice Remote and the channel automatically switched to said "Channel Number".
Can no longer simply share with someone where a channel is located by number. Now need to tell them "between channel A and channel B". Does not help that the Categories section on left is also incomplete and missing channels that should be included in the selected Category.
Not an improvement in my opinion.

Agreed. …And, given that Roku station advertisers cite their channel numbers within their commercials (presumably to have made it easier for viewers to find their stations and stream their media), it seems their commercials will need to be changed/updated, along with their approach toward helping us tune into their channels (to build viewership). </just_thoughts>

Even Roku advertises upcoming shows always including the channel number and showing what number to go to. How can I go back to an older update and have channel numbers displayed again? It's taking Roku way too long to get the bugs out. They need a link we can click on to reverse this buggy update.

People have been complaining for weeks about this issue without feedback from Roku. I don't believe there are ANY plans in the works to fix this problem. "Maybe our customers will get used to it and stop writing. Its a shame we created those old commercials with channel numbers prior to the new format!" LOL

I totally agree! It’s so frustrating that not only now are there no number channels but the channels are no longer categorized like they used to be and I cannot even find cooking shows anymore. It appears that a lot of the shows I used to watch, home-improvement shows, etc. are gone. Some of the movie channels. It’s so unorganized. It was way better the way it was before. And I would recommend some sort of a back button so that you don’t always have to scroll through every number to find what you’re looking for. Or maybe not a back button but a remote that has the ability to put numbers in so you can put the channel number you’re looking for . I guess, if they were still channel numbers… Very frustrating the way it is now. For an update, they made it worse.

Yes! Please! Give us the channel numbers back to start. Then later offer a remote with the capability to enter a specific channel number. Roku keeps making unnecessary changes that make things inconvenient for us.

Looks like this is a known feature that is being enabled. It's mentioned in one of the changes in OS 12.5. Now that it has rolled out to most users, Roku is now enabling various features.

So removing functionality is considered to be a feature... Ugh. Who makes these decisions?

Hahaha. Yes, the behaviour certainly seems that way. I can't help but wonder if Roku is using the same developers and decision makers as Pluto, or they're both in a race to the bottom. Pluto advertises new channels but can't tell you where they are because they've eliminated channel numbers and are too apathetic to even tell us what category they are placed. Pluto added a category for one channel: "Last Watched" , which is the same channel you go to when you start the app. Roku has the category "Recents" which is equally useless. I bet for most folks, channels in Recents are the same ones as in Favorites.
Roku has also received many complaints about losing the default of Favorites. They fixed it, but that was short lived and it's again broken due to a 'software update', which as far as I can tell fixed absolutely nothing or solved problems that did not exist.
The issues with Roku won't get fixed until the decision makers and those making the updates start using their products themselves to see what their customers have to put up with.

Totally agree this absurd of Roku to take out channel numbers on streaming. No one wants to browse through over a hundred channels to find channel name and 1 channel.Does not allow you to go back to previous program.POORLY DONE by Roku

It’s not so much that the channel numbers are missing from the guide or that there’s no way to go back to previous channel but on my device when I go into the Favorites/Edit Favorites List - there’s NOTHING there.
The menu (as it were) does not even display. Now I don’t know who at Roku thought this was a good idea nor does it seem Roku has a sense of urgency to rectify this colossal blunder. But one would think & consider that it’s enough of a problem to hurriedly find a fix.
#SMH (shaking my head) at how this could’ve happened and why Roku is so cavalier about the issue.

I agree with you, taking the channel numbers away makes it hard for everyone to get the programs they want to watch. The person or persons that are responsible should be fired. The company should be giving more thought to the consumer and not some jerk and a hair brain idea !!!
