Have a new Ultra 4850. Like the USB-C recharge feature as these remotes eat batteries.
My issue is the remote loses the BT connection to the streamer box but will still work if you point the remote at the box presumably using IR.
Re-pairing the remote restores the connection (as indicated by display of the battery status).
Works for a few days and then the connection/pairing is lost again.
Do I have a defective unit or remote?
It's not Bluetooth; the remote uses Wi-Fi Direct. It shouldn't be losing its pairing, but sometimes you just have to press a couple of buttons and it will reconnect. It does switch to IR when it loses it's connection. It uses the same Wi-Fi channel as the Ultra's connection to your network, so if your router is set to "Auto", that may have something to do with it if your router keeps jumping channels. Of course, it could also have an issue, so it may be easier to just return it and try another one if it's too much of a nuisance.

That explains a lot, then, as my WiFi network is very “busy” with both 2.4 and 5g bandwidths in use. I do not have the channel set to Auto but instead hard assign a least used channel to avoid competition with neighbor networks.
But, I have a mesh network so now I suspect that the remote may be drifting from the main router to the extender so loses the pairing. I actually have the Roku on a wired connection via an extender so now that you have explained how they “fit” I can switch the Roku to wireless and see if the problem goes away…
