    Hi Dustin1366,

Thanks for reaching out to the Roku community!

If you are trying to link manually the Roku mobile app to your Roku device, it will not work if it does not detect your Roku device. You'll not be able to obtain the IP address of the Roku device. You will need an actual remote to connect your Roku to your wireless network and IP address. It should be needed to be connected to the same network. You can follow this link to help you further https://support.roku.com/en-us/article/115003618767-can-i-control-my-roku-streaming-device-from-my-mobile-device-

If you need a new remote, we have you covered here: https://www.roku.com/products/accessories

Hope you'll find this info useful. Let us know in case you've still got any questions.

    Kind regards,
    Mary

Is your Premiere already connected to your home wifi?

    • IF YES -- Connect your phone to the same wifi network.  Within the Roku App on the phone, click "Devices" at the bottom of the screen to show all Roku devices it finds on your net.  Click the one you wish to use.
    • IF NO -- Until your Roku is connected to your wifi network, the Roku App on your phone cannot see it.  The app can't be used to establish the Roku's wifi connection, you need an actual physical remote for that.

All Roku devices other than Roku sticks will respond to the same set of infrared (IR) commands so any cheap universal remote you find at Amazon, Walmart or a dollar store that says it is compatible with Roku will work as long has you have a direct line of sight to the front of the Roku.

Or you can buy actual Roku remotes from Roku via https://www.roku.com/products/accessories/player#Remotes.  The "Simple remote" on that page communicates via IR as described above and is the same as the original remote that came with your Premiere.  The other "Voice" remotes pair to the Roku via wifi-direct instead of IR and also include limited IR controls for your tv.  You can also find these through many outlets such as Amazon, Wal-mart, Target, etc.
