Lost ability to duplicate screen from PC

I have suddenly lost the ability to connect to either of my Rokus from my PC to duplicate the screen. My PC will connect to other devices and duplicate just fine. (ie, direct to other TVs)).

I am thinking a windows update did this since neither Roku has updated since the issue started a few days ago.

Nothing in the router has changed.

Anyone else having this issue?

The latest Win 10 22H2 October 2025 update (Build 19045.6456) has no issues mirroring (Miracast) to RokuOS (14.6.4 build 9914/15/16 or 15.0.4 build 5534) on a 3800/3810/3820/3830/3840/3910/3940/3960/4670/4800/4850/Roku TVs, so neither Win 10's (latest update) and/or RokuOS' (latest update) Miracast support is inherently broken.

If you havent already rebooted ALL devices (modem/router/gateway+Rokus+PCs), you should do so.

Otherwise this is a configuration issue on one or more of your devices (roku vs router vs PC).

    Verify the following RokuOS settings:

    1. Settings/System/Screen mirroring/Scrren mirroring mode = Prompt
    2. Settings/System/Screen mirroring/Scrren mirroring devices/Always blocked = None
    3. Settings/System/Advanced system settings/Device connect = Enable Device Connect
    4. Settings/System/Advanced system settings/Control by mobile apps/Network access = Enabled

Got it fixed, but strange. I rolled back my PC to  a restore point on Oct 15th. I had 3 updates installed on Oct 23rd. One was security update, one was a feature update, and the third was a servicing stack update.

Went back to working but BOTH of my Rokus now asked for permission to connect. They never have before except when I first set them up. Set them both back  to always allow and all is now working.

      Like I said, very strange.

Good you got it fixed with the rollback, though I would do some research of the specific security & feature updates to figure out which one has the issue (the servicing stack update can be allowed, KB5068164 is just for WinRE, so your culprit is likely KB5066791).

FYI, its best practice security-wise to use screen mirroring mode = Prompt and select 'Always Allow" per device when prompted, instead of setting screen mirroring mode = Always allow

Screen mirroring mode = Always allow allows ANY device (it doesnt have to be on your network/SSID - Miracast uses P2P WiFi Direct) to automatically connect and mirror without your consent/permission @ any time (it will interrupt whatever you are doing/viewing and automatically display their mirrored content: e.g. a neighbor or passerby/driveby could/can do this with a Windows PC/laptop/tablet or Android phone/tablet).
