LG TV and Roku Ultra does not default to Roku

This is a new LG TV and Roku Ultra LT. I can turn my TV on with the Roku remote but my TV does not default to the Roku app home screen but the LG home screen.

At this point I have to use the LG TV remote to get into the Roku app and everything works as expected.

Is there a way around this where I only use one remote, Roku, as I have with my other TVs?

Thanks, Peter

There should be a menu setting somewhere on the TV that chooses the default input when the TV powers on.  You can also try enabling 1-touch play on your Roku device under Settings->System->Control other devices which requires CEC to be enabled in the TV.  LG calls it SimpLink and there's probably a setting for it buried in the LG's menu.  With 1-touch play, if everything is working properly you should be able to press any button on the Roku remote and have it power on the TV and have it switch to the Roku's input.

    Hi! pandrade82

    Thanks for reaching out!

If you want to control both your TV and Roku device with a single remote, you'll need to set it up. Here's how to do it: Navigate to Home Settings > Remotes and Devices > Remote > Set up Remote for TV controls, and then follow the on-screen instructions to finish the setup. Here’s a link with additional instructions.

    Hope this helps!
