JPEG Uploading Issues for Roku Photo Stream
I am trying to upload 6 JPEG photos into my company's Roku Photo Stream. I tried multiple times, and every time it says they've uploaded, but when I click "Done", none of the photos show up. I decided to try redownloading my pictures as PNGs to see if it made a difference, and it seems to be working so far. Not sure why that worked and JPEG didn't, as it says, "Please select a photo in one of the following formats: JPEG, PNG, WEBP or HEIC." Thankfully, it started working, for now, but this hasn't been an issue in the past, so not sure why it's starting now. Any info would be appreciated.
Hi transbordergfs,
Thanks for raising this concern directly to us, and welcome to the Roku Community!
We understand you are having a problem with the Photo Stream, as it was unable to show the JPEG photos that you uploaded. We're happy to assist you further. If your Roku photo stream isn't displaying JPEG photos, it's likely not because the platform doesn't support JPEG format, but rather due to an issue with how you're uploading or accessing the photos; Roku photo streams do support JPEG images (along with other formats like PNG, HEIC, and WEBP).
Potential reasons why your JPEGs might not be showing:
- File size limitations: Check if your JPEGs are too large. Roku may have a maximum file size limit for photos.
- Incorrect file naming: Ensure your JPEG files have standard names without special characters that could cause issues.
- Upload method: If you're using a specific app or service to upload photos, check if it's properly configured and compatible with your Roku.
- Network issues: A poor internet connection could disrupt photo uploads and display.
- Outdated software: Make sure your Roku device has the latest software updates.
We hope that's helpful. Please let us know if there's anything else that we can do to assist you.
All the best,
John
