Is this update behavior normal?

Had this Roku Ultra a few years and we have another one in another room about the same age. This just happened but it doesn't happen very often. What I was playing just stopped and I got a blank screen... then suddenly the roku is restarting and I see "finalizing updates" and then all was fine... I feel like I remember this happening in the past a couple of times but it's not that often. My main question is: Is that normal for Roku to stop what you're in the middle of to do an update? Or did something go wrong? Thanks

  • 1DayAfterAnothe Typically, if it is a critical update or something required to maintain functionality, the device will update (especially if the device has not been updated in a while), which is standard procedure for most electronic devices these days.  There was a recent major update to the Roku OS.  In this case, I would consider that normal behavior.
