Is switching from light gray to "real" white really that difficult?

Why the developers team of the Roku system didn't respond to the many requests from various customers who have long requested (a Year or more) that the subtitles be really white and not light gray, and that it can be customized with borders and shading, fonts... like any other system that has video streaming?
Here in Brazil we watch a lot of content in other languages (English, for example) so we need subtitles. The deaf mainly! When I bought my 50-inch 4K Roku TV at the end of 2021, I didn't expect something so simple not to be resolved.

Is it that difficult?

  • Finally REAL white is an option, they call it "bright white". Aleluia!

  • Some channels override default Roku subtitles and offer more configuration.

BBCiplayer is excellent for this but only available in UK.
