Recently, on 10/11/22, an OS update took place, and since then, the "Auto Power Savings" feature isn't working. When I turn off my player, the light remains on and prior to this update, it would go off. Also, any 20 minutes of inactivity while on would turn it off, and that does not happen either. (Software 11.5.0/Build 4216)

I have the same issue. Light stays on almost all the time. Interestingly enough, my light will turn off for about 20 minutes when I turn all of my components off then turn back on and stay on. Perhaps it has something to do with CEC? My component chain is Roku to Denon Receiver to Vizio TV.

Same problem.. After update the Roku Ultra never goes into sleep mode after the TV is turned off. The light stays on..
I have taken to unplugging it to prevent heat damage and excess power supply use.
Strangely enough the light will go out if the TV is left on and the Roku goes to screen saver.I have already replaced the power supply once and found that it was cheaper and faster to just buy one than replace it under warranty due to the fact that support insisted I had to mail them the entire unit instead of just sending me a replacement even though it was still under warranty at that time.

Hi RoyElam,
Thanks for the post and for providing the information.
We apologize for the inconvenience this has caused, I have passed along your information to our team. Please be aware that this issue is still under investigation by the appropriate Roku team. Once more information is available, I'll update this Community thread.
We appreciate your patience while we investigated this issue.

Just a reminder (since always have new users to Roku), that you need to press the Home Button when you are finished streaming. This will stop all streaming, eventually activate screensaver, and allow device to eventually enter Sleep Mode.
Otherwise, you are relying on Auto Power Savings and Bandwidth Saver settings (if enabled) to stop the streaming and then enter Sleep Mode.
Pressing the Power button on your Roku remote only affects the TV, not the Roku device. (Power and volume buttons are TV controls only).
As I said, just a reminder and something to eliminate as a possible culprit.

After a little testing I found that if you turn off the screen saver in settings the Roku will go into sleep mode as it should (With the TV off).
Other changes I have noticed with this software update is when my Fubo app is selected it starts up on the top of the TV guide instead of on the last channel used, the volume comes on at zero and apps on the home screen don’t always show as selected (ring of light around the icon).

On my 2020 Roku Ultra (4800R) the light worked as it should after turning off the screensaver and leaving power saver on. (The problem was caused by the updated software).
I decided to get a 2022 Roku Ultra since the 2020 model was getting flaky (freezing screen going black, unresponsive etc).
I set up the brand new 2022 model (4802X) yesterday (all defaults) with included cables and with the new power supply, it updated the software automatically. This morning the light was still on.
I then turned off the screen saver and 2 hours later the light was still on, I turned the screen saver back on and turned power saver off and now it works as it should, the light goes out.
Brand new and defective right out of the box.
I will use it with power saver off to prevent overheating and early power supply failure.- signmastrChannel Surfer
I have the same issue, but if I use power saver my Ultra LT won't wake using my universail remote. I have to power cycle. When this unit fails I'll be forced to look elsewhere.

Same issue, I have the Ultra 2022. It was off until I turned it on last night. Now the light won't go out, I have disabled the screen saver and the power saving to turn off after 20 minutes.

My three units have the same issue, Light stays on.
11.0 update did not have this problem.

Bought Ultra LT on Friday. Had an ultra for 6 years and no problem till I got this. I tried all the fixes stated in the forum and nothing seems to work. The light will go off after a while and for some reason it comes back on. My tv setup hasn’t changed since I swapped the old ultra out. Must be a software glitch in the update.
Roku, what do you believe the ETA on an update to address this bug. It seems like it’s been around since the update was released over three months ago?

The older devices seem to have the light on when being used, and then the light will go off when it enters sleep/low-power mode.
Somewhere in the last release of devices, users started noticing either the light always staying on, or never being on even when in use. (some reported the occasional flashing when responding to a command from the remote).
Not sure if an answer was ever really provided on this behavior. All my devices behave in the first scenario - light on when in use, light off when in sleep. (Two of my devices have 11.5, others still 11.0).

Although we have been suggesting to turn off the Power Savings Mode because of the various issues it seems to cause, perhaps you can try Enabling it and see if the light goes off.
Settings/System/Power/Auto Power Savings/20-min (Roku Ultra 480X models).
Just like I do when the Check Engine Light comes on in my truck, I find a piece of tape over that light will usually make the problem go away.

Since I updated to 11.5 my Roku ultra indicator light stays on even when it entered sleep rest mode so it’s a problem with the update I’m assuming and Roku needs to send out an update to fix this issue. Hopefully they do this sooner than later.

Since a couple of users are seeing this with the 11.5 update, will page RokuMary-F , RokuKariza-D , and RokuDanny-R so they can be made aware.
Usually they will need the Roku model number, serial number of device, and the OS including build number.
All found in Settings/System/About.

The blue LED light on the box always stays on. I have found no settings to fix this. Mainly it is irritating when I go to bed and turn off the Roku and/or connected TV. The light remains on, even after the 20 minute supposed power down.

11.5.0 build 4235-C2 which downloaded on 10/27 to my Ultra has a bug that makes it difficult to power off. Initially it ignores power off (from multiple remotes no matter how long we wait). Then on second press, it goes off and back on as if it recognizes both requests with the second turning it back on.
11.5 was fine for 17 days until this update on 10/27. Haven’t noticed the issue on Roku sticks.

I have the same issue with respect to power off of Roku Ultra with thew following data
Roku Ultra 4800X. OS 11.5
I have 2 units
UNIT 1 is connected via an HDMI Switch to a sounder. When the HDMI switch is NOT in the ROKU position the power off functions normally. When HDMI Switch is in ROKU position the Ultra WILL NOT power Off
UNIT 2 is directly connected to an ONKYO 7100 receiver. When Watching TV Through my Cable Box connection to the receiver the Ultra powers off, however when I put the receiver in STBY(turn it off) the Ultra powers on and stays on. If I disconnect the ROKU HDMI cable while the receiver is in standby, the Roku will power off.
It appears that the Roku are "sensing" the existence of the HDMI connection and powering on due to it.
