How to plug in Roku stick

Does the Roku stick have to be plugged into a wall outlet or can it just be plugged into the HDMI port in the back of the TV?

    luciekitty04   The HDMI port on the TV will NOT power the roku stick.  It needs to be plugged into a wall outlet.
