    Hello, cath58Love

We are sorry for the delayed response. We're here to assist you with your concern about how to connect your Roku Ultra to your Samsung Soundbar.

You can't connect the Roku Ultra directly to your Samsung Soundbar. Set it up using your non-Roku TV. If your Samsung Soundbar is connected to your TV, audio will play through it when using the Roku streaming platform.

Click here to learn more about how to set up your Roku Ultra.

    Hope this helps.

If you desire to use the soundbar for all audio, and take your AVR completely out of the mix, you can connect all of your devices directly to the TV, then use the ARC HDMI port on the TV to feed the audio back to your soundbar.

Your soundbar has an HDMI input as well as the ARC output, so in theory you could connect one HDMI device (such as the Roku) directly to the soundbar. Your soundbar appears to support most audio formats (just not the lossless versions of DTS) so it appears to be nearly equal to most AVRs. Of course, with your AVR you get 5.1 discrete speakers, not the 3.1 of the soundbar. Your soundbar supports Dolby Atmos, but since it's only a 3.1 system you won't really get actual height sounds. The review I read also mentions poor surround effects from it. So if you prefer the more realistic surround sound your Marantz offers you should instead stick with your AVR for your audio playback.
