hide streaming channels option not working on TCL Roku TV

Out of the blue My TCL Live channel guide is showing all antenna channels plus 100s streaming channels.  Hide streaming option is checked and not working.  Rescanned Antenna channels only and I still get 100s of unwanted streaming channels on my Live TV Guide.  Restarted TV rescanned to no avail.  Please tell me how to hide streaming channels without going through each channel and hiding it manually.

I have the same problem that has happened in just the past hour or so..

Dear Roku, please stop f**king with sh!t.    It's obnoxious... having ONLY over-the-air channels in one spot is CONVENIENT... forcing your streaming channels into the messing is IRRITATING.. especially after we already went thru the debacle of you removing the channel numbers

It just happened to me too.  For the last 5 years I've had just antenna channels. About 30 minutes ago over 1000 channels popped up that I don't want.  Repeat I don't want them.  I found the option to hide streaming channels, checked it but it's not working.  What's happening?  Why can't they leave well enough alone?  I'm seriously thinking of throwing this good tv in the trash.  Thanks Roku.  You may lose my business for life.  Any help?

Update:  It actually gave me 4300 channels(and a lot in Spanish).  When I clicked the 'Hide Streaming Channels' I think that cut it down to 1100.  I went so far as deleting the Roku channel App and that did nothing.  Why did they give me this when I didn't ask for it? I'd love to dump this tv on their front porch.  I'm so mad at those b*stards!

I did notice that an antenna scan says it does include streaming channels.  Is there a way to scan just the antenna?

Just so there's no confusion to delay your engineers re-activating the feature we miss:  see photos

I hope Roku realizes what they've done.  If everyone that this has happened to responds, maybe they'll be on the verge of bankruptcy and get off their dead asses and do something.  Let's hope.

I am on a fixed income and get a limited number of streaming hours. I accidentally watched several hours of streaming tv yesterday. Ouch!!! Please fix the "hide features" option. I had to go through "manage channels" and manually click on hundreds of streaming channels to remove them. Does anyone want to swap an updated Roku tv for anything else? Why would you anger the people who support Roku by buying a Roku enabled tv ( i have Hisense)?

You ask if this occurs on a SPECIFIC channel??? WTF??  have you even read the thread?

I posted pictures that makes the issue VERY VERY CLEAR and makes it very clear this is NOT A SPECIFIC CHANNEL issue.  I repost the pics here so that your laziness doesn't have to actually be bothered.

I stopped reading on your item #2 b/c if you're not going to read our messages then why should I read yours???!!

  • Same here. The 'Hide streaming channels' option stopped working last night on all three of my Roku TVs. I tried deleting the Roku channel, but that didn't help. The streaming channels were still displayed along with the antenna TV channels. Finally, I manually blocked each streaming channel on one of my TVs, but that took most of the evening and a whole lot of unnecessary wear and tear on the remote. That worked, but after blocking all the streaming channels, the Roku channel no longer works. What a mess! Come on Roku... either restore functionality to the 'Hide streaming channels' option or make it easier to block all of them.

Yup, happened to me too this morning. Already aggravated cleaning up yet another flooded basement at 4am only to find the Live Guide Roku Channels have been added to MY personal antenna! This happened about 3 years ago and about a week later, I'm guessing after a gazillion complaints, they put it back to the way it was before. Suddenly, last week, I noticed they added "Recents" to the left side of the antenna guide and I wasn't happy cuz I tend to scroll a continuous loop of my 19 channels in the early morning hours but can't do that now cuz it goes from All Channels to Recent Channels back to All Channels. Stop messing with our personal antennas!!!! I don't even have a Roku Antenna and never will cuz I'm totally hating Roku!!!

And I'm hating Roku not just for this but because I had to buy a Roku stick to add to my TCL Roku TV and select that on my Home Screen after I turn on my TV just so I could navigate the Home Screen AND all my TV/Movie apps faster!! The time wasted waiting for an app to open, to be able to scroll from one movie or TV series to the next can be up to a freaking minute (HBO Max was the worst)!!! I seriously thought it was the apps being ridiculously slow or kicking me out every time I so much as adjust the volume or get so hung up that I have to unplug my TV. BUT ITS ROKU!!!!!!! This is freaking daily Roku!!!! And with the Roku Stick, I'm finally getting the picture in picture again in Sling TV, a 2 thumbs up option for likes in Netflix as well as a different area to Exit, not getting kicked out of Prime as soon as it opens, etc. WHY Roku does it take me BUYING and ADDING a Roku Stick to my Roku TV for my apps to work better & faster and get more options in my apps???

    This blows Roku!!!!!!!

Since I now have dozens and dozens of Spanish channels(which I don't want) why don't you throw in some Portuguese, some Mandarin and maybe some Hungarian?  That would make this experience just 'perfect'. Thanks!

You're response says it all - "We always aim to give you the best streaming experience".  No you don't.  You aim to force feed us as many ads as you can.  Get this through your head - "WE DO NOT WANT STREAMING CHANNELS". I repeat "WE DO NOT WANT STREAMING CHANNELS".  If you force streaming channels on us then we don't want Roku.  Pass THAT on to Roku.

OMG as I sat here reading yours and other post fuming that they had once again screwed up the OTA menu I glanced at my TCL/Roku TV and wala it's fixed !

Thank you  Dave28 for bringing this to their attention and thank you Roku for listening.

Now if you can just delete the "recent" menu that would be great, it's useless . 🙂

YES!!!  Thank you RokuEuniceL   .... now please ask the engineers for an option to get rid of the Recents & Favorite sections in the guide..    We only have 27 over the air channels.... no need to have a Favorites sections at all... and definitely no need to have a forced upon us Recents section with 5 of the last stations watched... that's just unnecessarily repeating 20+% of the channels in a random order.
