Apparently, this issue has not been resolved. I also purchased the Voice Remote Pro RCS01R, for privacy listening, worked fine for 6 weeks only. It stops working completely when headphones connected. I have tried every instruction provided by the "community mediator" and the initial set up instructions provided with the remote. NOTHING WORKS!!!!!

Hope this helps someone: I received a replacement Roku Voice Remote Pro today. My remote from the Roku Ultra I have had for a couple of years has a rechargeable battery that is increasingly less able to hold a charge, so I was disappointed when this new remote played sound out of only the left side of my earphones. This set of earphones still worked well in my old remote; and other earphones worked in the new one, albeit with poor sound quality. The earphones seemed to have contact problems with the plug, and I would hear bits of sound when plugging them in.
I had ordered an aftermarket silicone case, and put it on. I re-inserted the earphone into the plug, and it caught an edge which held it out slightly. The earphones started working, and as I left it in longer, the sound improved and was stable. I just now unplugged them and then re-inserted the plug, and had to fiddle with the plug to re-establish good contact. I’m considering returning them, but I’m not confident another replacement would be any better after reading the Roku community posts.
