Fully Revoke Consent for Voice

Question

Hello,How do I revoke consent for voice, for a remote? Not disable voice, but fully revoke any consent for it.A new Roku 2 remote forced me to consent, when activating. I consented, to move forward, thinking i could later revoke my consent, but now I cannot find a way to revoke my consent.Based on this experience, I am returning the Roku remote, and will purchase a third-party remote instead.In the meantime, how can I revoke consent for voice? I don't want to just disable it, I want to completely revoke any consent for it as well.Thank you!

I have a Roku Ultra, the remote was a Roku 2, or something similar, but my actual Roku is a Roku Ultra.The IR remotes seem like the easiest option that would work well, but I've seen some Bluetooth Universal Remotes too.Still just looking to find how I can revoke my consent for voice. Thankfully, it matters less now that the remote is returned. Still, for the future, I'd like to remove my consent now and be asked again later, should I change something.

ahuber86&nbsp;There are a couple of Settings you can adjust on the Roku device.To enable/disable Hands-Free Voice, use the slider on the Voice Remote to enable/disable this setting.&nbsp; You can either look on the Voice Remote to see the current status or go to Settings/Remotes/ [click on the Voice Remote] /Hands-Free Voice.&nbsp;When the above is Enabled, data will be collected.&nbsp; When disabled, the Remote will not listen and no data collected.As for revoking consent, there are some Privacy Settings located under Settings/Privacy/Voice regarding Microphone Access and Speech Recognition.&nbsp;&nbsp;For the 'Microphone Access', you can set to "Prompt" and then under 'App Permissions' you can just Reset App Permissions.Just an fyi, past data collection is not affected if you granted permission, just affects data collection going forward.Doesn't hurt to limit sales and use of your data under Settings/Privacy/Privacy Choices as well.-----I would not overly concern myself with the Voice Remote consent though.&nbsp; On the Remotes I have with the sliders (Voice Pro Remotes), I keep them disabled/off and just use the Microphone button so only activated when I perform a Voice Search.&nbsp; This way they perform similarly to the other non-Pro versions of Voice Remotes that I have.The way to look at it is... when you toggle the slider to enable/on you are granting consent.&nbsp; When toggled to disabled/off you are revoking your continued consent. (does not revoke prior consent).-----Edited to add... When you pair a new Voice Remote to a Roku device, it pops up a message box explaining the Voice Consent.&nbsp; It basically just explains the on and off positions of the slider and then you click "I understand".&nbsp; You are not granting consent here, you are just affirming you understand that when the slider is toggled to on, you are granting consent for listening and data collection.&nbsp;&nbsp;

The voice will only work if you hold down the mic button. It does not listen all the time like Alexa and similar.

I understand that's how it's supposed to work; however, I'd still prefer to revoke my consent. It is a feature I don't want and don't use, so there should be no reason that I need to consent to it, just to have the remote linked to the Roku. I've already returned the remote, so even more reason to revoke my voice consent. There must be a way this can be done?
