Just got to our (very rainy)vacation cabin, but I forgot the remote. Any way to connect the ROKU app to the ROKU DIRECT network the device is broadcasting in order to connect it to the cabin wifi? Thanks!
If you can make the SSID and passphrase of the cabin router match the one you were on before, then the Roku should just connect to it with no fuss.
Thanks for the suggestion. I did something similar because we don't have the ability to change the cabin's wifi (rental). Per another suggestion, I made my iphone hotspot the same name & pw as the home wifi and the ROKU connected to that. Then, used another phone twith the remote app to connect to the hotspot and point the ROKU to the cabin's wifi. First iphone connects back to the cabin wifi, and Bob's your uncle, the remote app finds the device!
