  • I've tried mobile hotspots on two phones.

I have also tried a factory reset; retsarting the router; restarting the remote control and all other methods suggested in this forum. In all cases the update gets to 31% and then fails, giving Error 007.

In all cases the screen says that the internet connection is good when I connect via the previous screen, and the remote appeared to pair with the stick fine.

Is there some solution you can give which Roku can give that makes this thing work? Or is it a server problem at Roku's end?

Maff69 If you've tried phone hotspots and still have the same issue, there's likely a hardware issue with your Roku. You didn't state if this is a brand new box or something that has been in use previously, and exactly which model number you have. Could you provide that info?

The stick is a ROKU 3840X which I have just bought brand new, and was connected out of the box. It connected fine but then gave the 007 error.

    Greetings, stuartbreen26!

Seems like you're having trouble getting through the setup process.

Update issues during setup could sometimes be caused by weak Wi-fi connectivity. To help fix this, try connecting your Roku device to an alternative internet connection, such as a mobile hotspot, and see if you can get the update to finish.

    Hoping you'll start streaming soon!
