  • Ethernet cord connections (known as a RJ45 connector) are basically the same other than their cable capabilities.  Sounds like you are not plugging it in correctly or you are trying to plug into something that is not the ethernet port.  Or the TV does not have an ethernet port.   Look for a port that has one or two led lights next to the port and may have a label that says LAN, ethernet, network or something like that.  The ethernet plug will only go in one way depending on the orientation of the ethernet port.  Your cable will have a clip that clicks in when you plug it in correctly.

What model of TCL TV are you trying to hardwire?

That picture shows the correct cable. I'm sure you did a "test internet connection" from the menu. Can you test the wall outlet and cable by connecting it to a laptop or something that is known to work on a wired connection? If that makes a proper connection,  problem is in the tv.

Hi. It's the enthernet cord size that's the issue. I brought a cat6 did not fit into port. Someone said try cat5 enthernet cord.

There is no difference with the connection or the connector part of the cable with a Cat 5 and Cat6.  The only difference in the cable is the speed of the connection that the cable is capable.  They both plug into the ethernet port in the same way.  The connectors are the same size.

I suggest testing your connection to make sure you have it properly plugged into the right port of the router and TV.
