Did my Roku Stick fry or is it something else?

I bought a nice, used, 50" plasma TV for $50.  Hooked everything up and was enjoying REAL home theater, for about 24 hours.   Turned it back on, went to Roku (which was plugged into HDMI 2).  Roku had been working perfectly.  Now I got a screen,with Roku on it, hundreds of vertical lines, and nothing more.  Turned TV off, then back on.  No Roku.  Tried it in HDMI 1.  No Roku.   Does it sound like my Roku Stick, which also was not new, has given up its ghost?

    Have you verified that it's not the TV?  Does it work with other devices?

    With these Roku devices that are powered via a USB cable it's often the power source that's the culprit.  If you're using the TV's USB port to power the stick, try using a USB power adapter/charger from a phone or tablet.  Look for one that can provide at least 1 Amp.  The fine print should say something like, Output: 5V 1A (or 1000mA).  Anything over 1A is good, less is not.
