I have a TCL tv that has builtin Google TV. We prefer to use our ROKU Streambar and ROKU streaming. Has anyone found a way to start the TV up not having to view and advance from Google? I just want to have Roku as the start view.

How you make the TV start up with a specific input selected is a funtion of that TV.
But failing that...
Roku remotes cannot directly control the TV's input/source control. BUT, the TV itself may do some of this for you. To turn this feature on in your Roku, enable "1-touch play" via Roku menu path "Settings > System > Control other devices".
If your TV supports CEC (Consumer Electronic Control) over HDMI, turn on this feature in your TV settings. Unfortunately many tv manufacturers call this feature by their own proprietary names.

• LG: SimpLink or SIMPLINK (HDMI-CEC)
• Mitsubishi: NetCommand for HDMI, Realink for HDMI
• Panasonic: VIERA Link, HDAVI Control, EZ-Sync
• Onkyo: RIHD (Remote Interactive over HDMI)
• Philips: EasyLink
• Pioneer: Kuro Link
• Runco International: RuncoLink
• Samsung: Anynet+
• Sharp: Aquos Link
• Sony: BRAVIA Link, BRAVIA Sync, Control for HDMI
• Toshiba: CE-Link, Regza Link

On some TV's you may need to have the TV do a scan or search for connected CEC devices.
With CEC enabled on the TV, pressing a Roku control button on your Roku remote (not the power, volume, or mute buttons if you have them, because they act on the TV not the Roku) "1-touch play" should wake the TV from a standby state if necessary and switch the TV to the HDMI port to which your Roku is connected without you having to do it via the TV remote.
Note: If other connected devices (game console, cable box, disk player, etc) also have a CEC function, pressing a button on the their remotes may also switch the TV to their TV inputs.
Hello TallGuy98. Great question! I’m trying to find the answer to your same question too. Luckily, I can return my new TCL Google TV within 90 days to SAM’S CLUB if I am not happy with its features. I kept the manufacturer box and may be doing just that!
