Controlling volume with non voice remote

I know this probably depends on the brand and model of TV but can the standard non voice remotes control the volume on TV's?

    I appreciate you reaching out for support. I'd be happy to help you further with your question about the Roku remotes.

    The basic Roku Players (simple) remote does not include power and volume buttons, so it cannot adjust your TV's volume or power settings. Furthermore, we do have a Roku TV remote that can control both the power and volume of your Roku TV.

      The remote that comes with Streambar SE is an IR remote with tv buttons. The TV buttons only emit cec commands, which the any Roku other than Roku stick will pick up and send cec signal over the hdmi to whatever tv its connected to. Sure, wish Roku replaced their Simple Roku remote with this remote.
