Did you setup your TP-Link extender to use the same password as your router?

You didn't provide the model number of the extender, but for most TP-Link extenders you can only use different passwords when the extender is setup in "Access Mode".

When the extender is configured to use "Range Extender Mode", only the network name can be changed.

If the above is the case with yours (you are in extender mode and have changed the password to match that of your router), try disabling the 5ghz capability of the extender and see if the Roku will now connect and accept password.

Also, can you confirm whether the password error is being produced by the TP Link extender, or are you seeing an error message on the TV screen from the Roku?

If you are using WPA3 protocol on your network (router), only the Roku Ultra 4850 and the Pro/Plus series of RokuTVs will be able to authenticate.  Try using WPA2-personal under the Security settings of your router and see if issue is resolved.  (may be able to use "WPA3 transition/transitional", which will use WPA2 when needed for non-wifi6 devices, but some routers/firmware are having issues with this setting).  If this is the case, try WPA2-personal-only.  Then increase to WPA2/WPA3.  Then increase to WPA3-transition.  See at which point aunthentication fails.

Second culprit may be the use of special characters in your password.  Try using just numbers and letters and avoid the use of special characters.  If this resolves your issue, you may just need to isolate which special character is causing the issue.

Feel free to post model number of your Roku from Settings/System/About as well as model numbers of your extender and router if still having issues.  Are you seeing any error numbers in the password error message?
