Connect Internet and WiFi

I am new. My Roku works fine wirelessly to provider Spectrum Internet/Wifi.

Do I still have to add a Spectrum App just for this connection?

I do NOT want to subscribe to Spectrum TV packages. I am trying to wean myself off Spectrum TV.

    The Spectrum app allows you to directly access the channels included in your Spectrum account via the Roku, essentially bypassing the Spectrum cable box.  If you have no Spectrum cable subscription you have no use for the Spectrum app.
