HDMI Cables allow higher digital audio bitrates than Optical and Coaxial cables, providing better sound and video quality. They also support current and new video formats, including Ultra HD 4K resolution and HDR formats.  Better to get a cheap TV that provides HDMI.

You can use a HDMI to Coaxial adapter/converter like these converters found on Amazon as an example. (HDMI to Coaxial adapter/converter)

It would be a little cheaper if your TV had some composite or RCA/AV ports (ie. yellow, red, white or green inputs for RCA cables). Then you could use a HDMI to RCA/composite converter instead.

In either case, because of the age of the TV, the lower resolution received will likely not be an issue.

However, with the readily available lower price of televisions today (both new and used), it usually is just easier and cheaper to acquire a newer TV with HDMI ports than add another $30-50 adapter/converter to keep these older TVs running with newer peripherals.
