Will roku tv ever get a update to remove closed captioning?

In this instance, may we first know on which specific app you are trying to disable the closed captioning from? It's not guaranteed to be disabled on specific apps just because you disabled it in your Roku settings. Please be aware that most apps on the Roku streaming platform are being created, provided, and maintained by the channel providers independently.

CarlySpectrum, but I heard Amazon, Hulu and Netflix does that also. Should I contact them?

Yes, we advise getting in touch with them and asking for more assistance with this matter. On the other hand, some channels might have the ability to disable close captioning inside their own settings.
But you can talk to them about it if you want to get rid of it entirely.
