clock never appeared on my new Roku tv

Most of the posts on this issue refer to the clock disappearing from the Guide and/or Home screen.  I am bothered by the fact that Roku says that the clock always appears top-right of the screen, BUT IT DOESN'T.  I recently bought  a Roku TV, and the clock has never appeared [top-right or anywhere else] while watching a channel.  This is a required feature, but Roku do not appear to be listening?   Why not?  When will this be fixed?
