CC continuously disappears even though set to "on" - Roku Ultra

CC will not stay visible, regardless of app or show watched. 

We set it to on, then it functions correctly for only what we are currently watching, and not always the entire program. If we're watching a series, it may work for the current episode, but the next episode comes on, and it's off. If it's on and we switch to a different app or program, it's off again.

In all these instances, we turn CC on again manually, plus we use voice control and instruct it to turn on, but CC does not reappear. The only way to get it to once again work is to reboot the roku. 

Why is this happening? It's been happening for a couple of weeks now. Previously, we never had this issue. Was there an update that caused this? When will it be fixed?

We rely heavily on CC and need it to function as intended. We shouldn't have to repeatedly reboot Roku to get this necessary tool to work.
