Can't update software error 003

Can't update software error 003 and tried every suggestion on this site.l  This is fresh out of the box and will not budge.  Hot spot, wired, wireless, 3 different wireless accounts.  Nothing.  How d...

    Hi Community Users!

    Thanks for reporting this issue directly to us.

    Update 1/13: We believe that this issue has now been resolved for most users. We appreciate you all who have informed us about this matter.

    We are encouraging everyone to please check for software updates on their Roku devices to see if the issue is resolved on your end. 

    Here's how:

    1. Press Home on your Roku remote
    2. Scroll and select Settings
    3. Select System
    4. Select Software update
    5. Select Check Now to manually check for updates

    You should be able to update your device just fine. If you still encounter the issue, feel free to create a new thread and we'll assist you right away. 

    We'll now close this thread and mark this post as resolved.

We appreciate you bringing to our attention that you're having trouble updating the software of your Roku devices. No worries, we would be more than willing to take a closer look into this issue.

We have coordinated this with our Roku appropriate team for further investigation. Please provide us with the following details below:

  • Roku device model, serial number, device ID, and OS version. (this can all be found in Settings > System > About)
  • Tracker ID (when you see this issue occur, press the Home button 5 times, followed by the Back button 5 times, and provide us with this ID)
