Can't open remote to change batteries

I found a video that showed me you pull the Roku tab to "simply" open the remote. It didn't work. I even tried pliers, and the back didn't budge. The Roku tab is about to come out. Will Roku replace this remote? How do I get a new one?

    No purple Roku label was ever used to open the remote, so stop trying to use it. If the remote doesn't have a battery door, then it's rechargeable remote look for usb jack under Roku fabric flag, you have to plug in usb cable and connect it to usb power brick and charge the remote.
