    Hi DN123,

Thanks for the first post to the Roku Community!

We understand that you are having trouble establishing a network connection to your Roku device. We'd like to know more about this, but we need more details.

    1. What Roku device are you using right now? (e.g., Roku Express, Roku Streambar, Roku TV—specify TV)
    2. Are you encountering any error codes or messages?
    3. Are there any changes in the setup or settings of your Roku device or your network provider that might cause the problem?
    4. What troubleshooting steps have you taken so far to resolve the issue?
    5. Who is your ISP? (Internet service provider)

With more detailed information, we'll be able to assist you further.

    All the best,
    Chel

I have the same issue.  My Roku Express was working fine until yesterday.  However, today Roku said "not connected."  Tried the set up network option and it showed the WiFi to be very strong.  I used the same password I have used until yesterday, but it came up with the error code 014.40, which means incorrect password.  I tried restarting Roku a few times to no avail.  Nothing wrong with the modem because my TV and all other devices connected to it through WiFi are working fine.

    How to resolve this issue?

I just found out that my Roku Premier connected to a different TV is also having the same issue. It looks like a broad issue with Roku, not the home network.

      Please provide a resolution.

      Thanks

The 014.40 error is often caused by having special characters in your Wi-Fi password.  If you have any in your password, try changing it to one with only letters and numbers.

  • I’m thinking that Roku really screwed up, somehow. All 3 of my Roku Ultras stopped working 2 days ago. I tried everything under the sun, but the only thing that worked was renaming my router, and turning off encryption so that a password isn’t required.

I rebooted the modem - unplugged the power, waited a few minutes, and plugged it back.  Then tried connecting Roku devices with the same password, and now it worked!  But it is very strange that suddenly both of them stop connecting at the same time and refuse to recognize the password!

Well, I’m certainly glad you got them working. I had to turn off encryption (so no password needed) to get mine back online.
