Can't get the remote to work after reset on my Roku Ultra LT

I did a factory reset on my Roku Ultra LT.  When the screen came up for language selection I chose English but then it sent me to a screen showing the battery compartment of a remote. I replaced the batteries but no response. I went and bought two sets of new batteries still no response. I cannot get the player to reset. I appreciate any suggestions.

Thx! Ed

Assuming it's a voice remote, you have to pair the remote the remote before it will work.

    Hi, brayej

Greetings, and welcome to the Roku Community.

A factory reset on a Roku device returns it to its original state by erasing most of its data and settings. This process unlinks the device from your Roku account, removes all channels, and resets all settings, including the connection on your Roku remote.

You mentioned that a screen showed the battery compartment of your Roku remote. This is the part where the Roku remote must be paired to your Roku device.

To pair your Roku remote to your Roku Ultra LT, follow the steps below:

How to set up a voice remote with a pairing button

If your voice remote has a pairing button, it will be located either on the back of the remote or under the battery cover.

Press and hold the pairing button for 5 seconds, or until you see the status light begin to flash, to put your voice remote into pairing mode.

Note: The Roku device should also be in pairing mode. To ensure this, unplug and replug your Roku device before pairing your Roku remote.

Hope this helps, and let us know if you have further concerns or inquries.

    Thanks,
    The Roku Community Team.
