Cannot set up Roku Express

I recently purchased a Roku Express HD device. I have tried to set it up but I cannot get it past the software update. It finds my WiFi router, seemingly connects, says it will update, restarts, then just loops back to the beginning 'Let's get you started' screen.

I have tried a factory reset, rebooting our router and we also have a WiFi extender showing strong connection. So I cannot understand why I can't get past this stage!

 

I am in the UK and model number is 3960x. Any help much appreciated before I take it back and say it's faulty!

    How are you powering it?  If you're using the TV's USB port, try a USB power adapter plugged into the wall.  If it didn't come with one, try a power adapter/charger from a phone or tablet that can supply at least 1 Amp.
