Can I record from my Roku tv #43R4A5R model to my Sony DVP-NS725P?

Hello, I was able to connect this cd/dvd player/recorder directly to my Roku tv but is there a way for me to record on dvd's?

Thank you in advance for any wisdom.

    TV's don't have any way to output to a recorder and if they did copy protection would probably get in the way.

      I suspected as such, but wanted to verify. So, my stack of unused read write dvd's and any device that records dvd's are not useful any longer, correct?
