Can I get the 4x4 grid back?
Apparently I was part of the group that was tested with the 4x4 app grid and I like it a lot more than the 3x3. Is it possible to switch back to 4x4? Mine was changed back to the 3x3 this morning. Thanks!

I agree! I love the 4x4! I’m very upset that it switched back to 3x3. To make everyone happy, why can’t Roku upgrade it so that it is another customizable feature in settings.

Recently we were given the choice for 3 or 4 columns view of apps in settings. Now it's back to the unwanted 3 columns only which is subpar. Where is the 3 or 4 column custom setting to make it 4 columns again?

Roku has probably gathered the data they want from the random tests. With OS13 coming out soon, it's possible those settings may return. Or if too few people were using it, then maybe it will be permanently gone.
Ah Yes, Its Spring Again... and Roku has previous released new OS's around this time before...

But WHY would any company try to force a UX 'User Experience' feature upon its users thus treating them like victims or subservient to their whims.
It should, and has been, and Optional Setting for all to choose from.
And 4x4 still allowed them to show the giant 1/3 screen Ad as well!
Lets all just hope we dont again re-experience the fiasco of OS 10.5 that Roku offered folks Roll-Backs for.

I have 3 Ultras, all of which had an option under settings/home screen to choose the layout. I had 2 of them set to small tiles, and one set to large tiles for the much smaller display to which it was connected.
One day I restarted one and it displayed the large tiles instead of the small ones that I had selected. I couldn't find the option to change it anywhere.
I looked at the other Ultra with the small tiles still displayed, and easily found the option to change it. I restarted that one and it came back displaying large tiles, and the settings option had also been removed.
The third Ultra was displaying the original large tiles that I selected for that one, and the option to choose the layout was still available under settings. After a restart, that setting was removed also.
I too would prefer the 4x4 grid as an option. I was disappointed that many people that didn't want it got it and I never did.it should be an optional feature
Please make the 4 columns an option again, as we can see more of our channels at a glance. 3 is way too big and requires much more navigating to get to our desired channels.
We'd been on 4 columns for months, and it just switched back to 3 yesterday.
I just spent forever on the phone with a Roku rep who took me through a bunch of steps, NONE OF WHICH WORKED. He had me:
Check for update (I'd already done that, but did it again). No luck.
Restart the device (I'd already done that, but did it again). No luck.
Factory reset. NO LUCK and I now have to reenter ALL usernames and passwords to all channels.
ROKU: PLEASE MAKE 4 COLUMNS AN OPTION AGAIN.
I too preferer the 4x4 app grid. The option to change the app grid simply disappeared over night When I contacted Roku support the agent had no idea what I was talking about in regard to the 3x3 and/or 4x4 grid option setting.
I also preferred the 4x4 grid. Mine was just switched back to the 3 column layout. I also don't see an option within the settings to change it. Seems like an easy option to add back. Keeps everyone happy. Thanks.

I do not see the option to do that on my screen.
Please add the tiles option back to the Home Screen Menu for the 4x4 grid, or even a 5x5 grid (eliminating the huge ad to the right that many people, ignore). Options are usually better than mass forced changes.
It looks like the Home Screen icons were changed from 4 columns back to 3. I googled this and saw that a lot of people had complained when it was first changed to 4. What about all of the people who were very happy when it changed to 4? Is there an option to choose yet??? To each his own, but the icons are way too big for me once again.
We're experiencing the same issue. It was 4 across and now it's 3, which is soooo much 'in your face' when you have a 60" screen that's 13 feet from where you're sitting.
Why can't they simply make it an option, instead of jamming it down the viewer's throat?

I wish Roku would make up their minds on what they want the Home Screen to look like. I have two family members outside my home that have been waiting months for their Roku devices to update to the new sleeker version of smaller app icons. Instead I now have the old version screaming at me from my TV screen. Ugh!!Yes, suddenly today, it's a GIGANTIC 3x3 grid, which spills our final row off the screen.
We're on a lowly, small size (by many or most people's standards) 32” TV in our family room — and these now take up far too much of the Home Screen.
Weirdly, the system information reports that the OS was last changed back in January! So, this was an unannounced change, surreptitiously slipped in on users under the cover of night! 🌃 🔥 ❌ 👎🏽
There used to be a setting to control icon size — please restore it posthaste!
It seems there was a home screen update of some kind. The App icons are larger now. Does anyone know how to switch back to the small ones?? I use a programmable universal remote and this messed up my pre-programmed buttons. ☹️

Same issue. Only 3.5 rows of large channel icons visible on the home screen since last night vs the day before.
Using the default Roku theme.
No change after restarting.
They made the change because users threatened a malicious fraudulent laws**t saying Roku wasn't in compliance with ADA which is a lie. You (ROKU) Can easily add options to configure your own layout. I mean for crying out loud, you have 12 settings for how to display closed captioning, which is insane, yet you cant get this of the most basic pieces sorted out
With OS13 coming out soon, they may be reverting everybody back to standard settings by removing the various beta testing modules or whatever. That would reduce any issues with the update when it is released.
